In 1993, aged 21, Guillaume de Fondaumière co-founds ARXEL TRIBE specialised in high-end 3D graphics. By 1996, Arxel Tribe becomes one of Europe’s premier special effects companies for the advertising industry.Introduced to author Paulo Coelho, Arxel Tribe produces PILGRIM, its first video game published in 1997 by Infogrames. The international breakthrough comes in 1998 with RING, adapted from Richard Wagner’s eponymous Opera, which sells on PC in excess of 600 000 units. In 2001, ARXEL TRIBE boosts 120 employees and is sold to CTO Spa. Guillaume remains President-CEO of ARXEL TRIBE until resigning in 2003. He joins David CAGE’s Quantic Dream shortly after to produce FAHRENHEIT, which becomes one of 2005’s most critically acclaimed games on PC, X-BOX and PS2.Today Co-CEO, he is also the executive producer of HEAVY RAIN, an exclusive PLAYSTATION 3 title developed with Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios. HEAVY RAIN aims at breaking new grounds in the fields of interactive narration and emotion in games.Since 2005, he is also the president of France’s video game trade body SNJV.He was recently knighted in France’s National Order of Merit in recognition for his contribution to the country’s digital economy
